Carol Kruckenberg
The real estate business is Carol's second career, but the experiences from her first have been very beneficial. Managing in the IT field for 20 years, she has found that her technical background has assisted her and her fellow agents. The tools for the practice of real estate have changed with her help since starting 9 years ago. Back then, the main means of procuring information was either through the MLS Book or talking to other agents. Now there is emphasis on an internet-based MLS system, (which she was instrumental in securing), use of email, transportable data on a device such as a PDA and networking with other agents.
She feels that her role to a client is not as a 'salesperson' but as a consultant; one who provides information on properties, neighborhoods, schools, trends, etc. Providing information in a professional, knowledgeable manner makes the buyers and sellers more at ease and provides them with the information they need to make prudent decisions. Even in her short career, Carol has been extremely active within the Association of REALTORS. She has been Chairperson for both the MLS and Technology Committees, served as a director, Secretary/Treasurer and President on the Santa Barbara Association Board of Directors and also is a director on the California Association of REALTORS' Board of Directors. Carol has earned the e-PRO designation through the National Association of REALTORS which is indicative of agents that are capable of technological marketing. Giving back to the community is important to Carol. She offers up her time at Foothill School as the Silent Auction Chair and also is a member on the board for the Goleta Boys and Girls Club.
