Ask Jane Runyen what she enjoys most about Santa Barbara and her answer is characteristically straightforward. Besides family and friends, it’s the spectacular weather and Santa Barbara’s amazing ability to hold onto its small-town atmosphere regardless of how much it’s grown over the years.

 

Jane ought to know since she’s lived in Santa Barbara since 1957 and, since 1980, as one of Santa Barbara’s highly regarded real estate agents.

Jane’s extensive knowledge of the area, both personally and professionally, is a recognized benefit to her clients. In fact, more than two-thirds of her clients have worked with Jane on multiple sales and purchases throughout the years. Seventy-five percent of Jane’s client base is the direct result of client referrals.

 

Having experienced firsthand much of the area’s growth, Jane’s clients look for her insight on home building over the past half-century, on topics ranging from specific home styles to golf courses. As both a parent of four and now a grandparent of nine, Jane is adept at analyzing the relative merits of the Santa Barbara public school system and equally informative on private schools throughout the area as well.

 

Giving back to the community she so enjoys is important to Jane. She is past president and a member since 1976 of the CALM (Child Abuse Listening and Mediation) Auxiliary and is also a member since 2005 of the Assistance League of Santa Barbara. Jane also enjoyed performing throughout the year for area organizations and retirement homes as a member of the Santa Barbara Silver Follies from 2005 through 2018.

Professionally, Jane is a member of the Santa Barbara Board of Realtors, the California Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors.
